I am a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst with over twenty-five years experience in private practice and teaching in San Diego and previously in New York. My approach to treatment is psychodynamic combined with common sense to help patients find greater well-being and lasting change.
Most people come to me for help with depression, anxiety, or problems with their marriage/relationships. I find that generally people have given a lot of consideration to their situations and have not gotten as far as they would like solving their problems on their own. Often that is because there are underlying issues that are hard to see, which I can be helpful in identifying. Psychotherapy consists of our together understanding the operative issues and finding solutions that are practical and enduring. After working together, my patients find that they have more freedom and opportunities in their personal and professional lives.
